For hundreds of years, the colony of Atrius has been isolated from humanity. All that remains is a shining city, but beyond it lies a lawless wilderness known as the Fringe. The city's inhabitants strive to reach new scientific heights, but they remain vigilant against the dangers that lurk beyond its walls. Yet even greater terrors lurk within the city itself.

  • A scene from the Liberty Podcast. The city of Atrius, gleaming in the golden light of the sun. Text reads: Atrius.

    Atrius

Atrius is both the name of the planet and colony where our tales of terror take place. Since planetary travel is no longer possible, Atrius specifically refers to the central part of the colony, a utopia of likeminded Citizens working under the watchful eye of the Archon.

    The Fringe

The Fringe is the inhabitable area beyond Atrius. Once built as the continuation of the shining colony, it fell into ruin due to internal conflict and resource scarcity. The Fringe is no longer considered part of Atrius, and is physically separated by the Outer Wall and the No Man’s Zone.

    The Archon

The Archon has been the leader of Atrius for over 700 years. Archon Reeves’ strength and wisdom has guided Atrius' growth and protected its Citizens from Fringer incursions. Archon Reeve is not a god, but in the absence of deities (religion is forbidden in Atrius) she is the target of the city’s reverence. The Archon’s unnaturally long life has been extended through science, and she has been increasingly reclusive in recent years.
